(by Lydia Brownback)
Led by Carmen Creecy
Dates: September 9 – November 18

Peter’s Epistles are a rallying cry for hope. Written to a young church facing intensifying persecution, they showcase the living hope of the gospel even in the midst of trials and tribulation.
Dig deeper into the books of 1-2 Peter and learn that God does not abandon us in our suffering. Through the themes of suffering, the transformative power of God, spiritual authority, false teachers, and the last days, Peter directs us to the God who is faithful in our trials, working them for His glory and for our good.

How can it be true that God sovereignly controls the universe and, at the same time, man has the liberty of and responsibility for his actions? This question, which has puzzled believers through the ages, will be at the center of our study this semester. For ten weeks we will examine what the Westminster Confession says concerning “Of God’s Eternal Decree”, “Of Providence”, “Of Free Will” and “Of Good Works”. All participants will receive a weekly study guide which is based on G.I. Williamson’s “The Westminster Confession of Faith for Study Classes” and includes discussion questions specifically formulated for this class.
If you have time to read the text on your own, you may purchase the book HERE.

Enjoy an in-depth study of the book of Romans this coming year. We will gain insights from Hope Blanton & Christine Gordon along with our own personal time in the Word all guided by the Holy Spirit. The Apostle Paul gives us 16 chapters of rich theology from beginning to end and ways to apply these truths to our daily lives. Be strengthened and encouraged as we do not look to ourselves for any righteousness of our own. We look to Jesus and receive the righteousness that The Father gives us only through His Son.

Starting in chapter 13, John shows us the full extent of the love of Jesus, who went to the cross to die for our sins, before rising with life for the world. To read John by faith, therefore, is to know God’s full gift of salvation in Jesus. This Bible study helps the gospel of John do what the Holy Spirit inspired it to do, which is to help you believe that Jesus is the Christ, and to have life in his name.
We will be starting with Lesson 14. It is fine for new ladies to join.

Prayer Vigils
Each quarter our church takes a focused time to pray for our congregation, its leaders, and our missionaries. You can sign up to pray from your home or gather with others to pray for a one hour time period. The bulletin will offer a link to sign up and get prayer guides. Mark your calendar for the upcoming vigils so you can be ready to support Redeemer Presbyterian Church: January 5-6; April 6-7; July 13-14; and October 12-13.
On the Go
Podcast encouragement! These conversations give examples of ways to intentionally pray with others in trying circumstances, as well as specific questions or conversation starters that go beyond the basic, “How are you doing?”
